Слово, еже глагола Иеремиа пророк к Варуху сыну Нириеву, егда вписа словеса сия в книгу от уст Иеремииных, в четвертое лето Иоакима, сына Иосиина, царя Иудина, глаголя:

тако глаголет Господь Вседержитель о тебе, Варуше:

яко рекл еси: о, люте мне! О, люте мне! Яко приложи Господь труд к болезни моей, успох с стенанием, покоя не обретох.

4

Рцы ему, сице глаголет Господь: се, яже Аз соградих, Аз разорю: и яже насадих Аз, исторгну, и всю землю Мою.

5

И Ты ли взыщеши себе великих? Не ищи: яко се, Аз наведу злая на всяку плоть, глаголет Господь, и дам душу твою в корысть во всяцем месте, аможе аще пойдеши.
